Tuesdays with Sam

Samson absolutely loves this antique alarm clock that his G.G. loaned him. It must be the ticking. Whenever he is in his bedroom, he has to have it. He took it off the table and then dragged it with him every where he went. He played with some of his stuffed animals (Pooh and Red Fraggle) but then he went back to his clock. I'm too tired to format this better so enjoy the pictures. I'm going to go take a nap.

Egg Shakers

Here are some pictures of Sam and his new noise makers.

Shake yo' money maker

Sam just got an egg shaker and a little maracca(sp?) We went to the music store today to pick up some books for my piano students and I just couldn't resist. (I almost bought a set of boomwhackers, but I think I'll hold off on those until he is a little older.) He LOVES them. He can keep the beat to music with them. Pictures will follow later today hopefully.

Flashback Friday

I just love these pictures.

I wish I could have actually seen Pedro hold Sam for the first time, but I'm SO thankful to whatever nurse took a picture of it.

Basketball Jones

Sam has a serious basketball jones. SERIOUS! He absolutely loves this basketball hoop that Aunt Noelle and Andrew got him. He has figured out how to put the basketball into the hoop, but not how to let go of it. Meaning he puts his entire arm and hand with the basketball into the hoop until it touches the tray on the bottom. Then he pulls his entire arm and hand back out, still holding the basketball, and does it again. He also loves to pull the hoop down because it cheers and plays music. When the cheering starts, he claps his hands and says "Yaaaaaaay" right along with it. I tried to get some pics of him in action, but as soon as he saw the camera he decided he had to have it.

This one's for you mom!

I changed my hair color and my mom has been asking to see it so here are two pics.

Even Sam likes it.

Bathtub Fun

Yesterday I was making the bed when I heard Pedro yell "Honey, Hurry! Come Quick!" Of course, Sam was in the bathtub so my heart started pounding and as I RAN to the bathroom all I could think was that he had fallen and hit his head on the bathtub or something equally as awful. Instead, I saw this:

And this:

And this:

And finally, this:

P.S. Don't hate on the pink bathtub.

Flashback Friday

I meant to start this blog eight months ago. But I didn't. Something about being a first time parent and having a newborn baby to take care. Anyways, each Friday I'll be posting a favorite memory and photo of Sam from the last 8 months. Today, it's this photo:

This was Halloween night. We had hoped to find a Hulk costume for him, but Grandma and Aunt Noelle found this Wonderbread costume. Very fitting for our chunky little man. It was too cold to take him out so instead he helped us pass out the treats. He was very interested in looking at all of the kids who came to our door. He had a great time helping daddy pass out treats.

Queen for a day

I love my husband. He is a wonderful, WONDERFUL man. This morning he let me sleep in when Sam decided to wake up at 5:30 am. Then he and Sam brought me a delicious breakfast in bed and a beautiful red and white heart gift bag. Inside of it was a necklace, earrings and a ring. (Pedro has to work tomorrow so we're celebrating Valentines Day today.) Tonight he is making me a Peruvian meal, Lomo Saltado. Yum, its one of my favorites. My husband spoils me. He's the love of my life!

Naptime Frustrations

Lately, nap time is the worst part of the day. If Sam takes a good morning nap then he won't take his afternoon nap. He'll play or cry through the whole thing. Or sometimes he'll play/cry through the whole morning nap and then take a long afternoon nap. Is he old enough to be taking only one nap a day? It seems a little early for that? I'm perplexed.

Here We Go!

Welcome to our family blog. This is where we will be detailing the life and times of "Baby" Sam. I use the word "baby" loosely, because at 8 months he is already over 27 lbs. and 31 inches! He is an active little boy. He crawls all over the place and is walking along all of the furniture. Yesterday, he figured out how to crawl through the little tunnel between the couch and the window. Now he loves to play back there. His favorite words are da-da, ma-ma, yay, and hi. He loves to clap his hands and does it every time he gets excited. His favorite food is green beans, believe it or not. He also has EIGHT teeth!
